What is charging port replacement?
Are you experiencing an issue where your phone has suddenly stopped charging overnight? There’s a possibility that it could be resolved by simply cleaning out a blocked charge port, which we can handle in-store. However, if the port itself is damaged, we can provide a replacement.
It’s common for charging ports to wear out over time due to frequent use, lint, dirt, and liquid damage. Fortunately, for most iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Huawei, and Oppo devices, these ports can be easily replaced, allowing your phone to charge like new in no time.
If you’re having trouble inserting the charging cable or need to wiggle it around, our in-store services include cleaning out charge ports that have been blocked with lint and dust.

Why is my charging port loose?
Pocket lint, dirt or a worn out charing port can cause your cable to feel loose. We can give your charging port a clean out and if that does not resolve the loose port we can then offer full charging port replacement to get it working like new again.
My phone won’t turn on, is it the charging port?
Several factors can cause your mobile phone to not power on including but not limited to the charging port. When a device won’t power on or indicate charging it is often best to preform an assessment to determine the cause of the issue. You can learn more about diagnostic assessment here.
How do I clean out my charging port?
iPhone users can clean out their charging port using an online guide like this one from Tom’s Guide using soft tools like a toothpick, toothbrush or port cleaning tool. For those with micro USB or USB-C charge ports we don’t recommend user cleaning as there is less space in the ports and they can easily be damaged. We can give your charge port a clean out if you come in-store, free of charge.
Will my wireless charger work if my charging port is damaged?
On most mobile phones you should still have full function of the wireless charge even if your charging port is damaged, faulty or blocked.
Why is my phone telling me there is moisture in the port when it is dry?
Newer smart phones have sensors that can detect if there is water or moisture in or near the charging port and disable charging if detected to protect the device from damage. However these sensors are prone to fail and can give you a warning while disabling charging even if the device hasn’t had water damage. Most often this will require a replacement of the charging port which includes the sensor.

Do I need to make an appointment?
There is no need to make a booking. Just pop in during out open hours and allow 2 hours for your repair. You can wait in-store, visit one our the many local cafes in New Brighton or pop back once its ready to collect. Check out our opening hours.

Yes, we accept EFTPOS and Credit Cards. Please note credit cards incur a surcharge.
Does my repair come with a warranty?
We offer a hassle-free 90-day warranty on all parts. Let us know if you are experiencing any issues, and we’ll be happy to help out.
Will my broken parts be recycled?
Mobile phone parts can contain harmful and dangerous materials as well as many reusable materials such as metals and glass. We use local recyclers to ensure materials from phone batteries, mobile screens and electronic devices are repurposed and hazardous materials disposed of properly.
